Owner and Founder, Fond Reflections Video
Hello, my name is Fred Farmer and I enjoy bringing tears of joy to seniors! I am an accomplished professional with over 40 years of experience in the corporate world, however I left this world in 2011 to begin a new adventure - one that would be more personally rewarding and fun at the same time. So I started my own business that preserves family memories.
In 2012 I began Fond Reflections Video with the goal of helping families capture their most precious memories in order to leave their legacy to their loved ones. Having initially done my first video of my mother after my first son was born, I realized the importance of documenting the important chapters of our beloved seniors’ lives before the opportunity is lost. Fond Reflections Video aims to capture a chronicle of a family’s history for future generations to be able to recall their heritage. My favorite tag line is this: “A library is lost when an old person dies.”
Previously, I held various job positions including corporate photographer for Thrifty Corporation, a producer of marketing videos for General Dynamics, and ultimately managed high-profile, high-visibility events for Space Systems and then Qualcomm Incorporated on both the International and U.S. side.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Telecommunications and Film from San Diego State University. Prior, I served as a sergeant in the US Air Force, managing radio communications between an aircraft and the tower. I currently reside in San Diego with my family.
How It's Done
A professional videographer will come to your home (or another agreed-upon location) to record your loved one's stories. Prompted by relevant questions, interviewees might discuss their ancestors, grandparents, parents, siblings, growing up on the farm/in their neighborhood, their teenage years, meeting their spouse, time spent in the military, jobs they've held, travel experiences, and much more. The video can be enhanced by still photos, family films or videos, and historical illustrations of events, allowing an offering of a dynamic dimension that vividly brings the production to life.
The images below are photos that have been edited into previous video interviews. They have added an additional dimension to these productions by supporting the stories being told.

Honoring the life of the deceased and capturing the loving words and memories shared during these events can also provide a sense of peace and acceptance. It also gives those family members and friends who were unable to attend these services, an opportunity to feel like they were there so they too can grieve and get closure.
